About the Artist
Matt Schaub is a conceptual, functional artist functioning in DC. Schaub’s work spans multiple mediums including audio recordings, paintings, sculpture, furniture, lighting, and guitars. Before becoming an outside artist, Schaub was a genetic toxicologist, microbiologist, and an Obama White House staffer among other odd jobs. To date, each conceptual work has been fully donated to its parent concept; First Aid Kitar raised money for pediatric heart surgeries in Kabul, Whiskey River bolstered FarmAid’s efforts to protect family farms — our grain growers, Key to Freedom was donated to Jail Guitar Doors to advance their efforts in reducing prison violence, and the work continues.
